Void Rifter XR 1.7 Free Update!


Today we mark the release of Void Rifter XR's 1.7 total overhaul.
I don't even know where to begin with how much has changed, been fixed and duck taped back together. 

I'll start by trying to name the sheer amount of fixes and changes.

  • Fixed main menus to be less horrendous 
  • Gave Rank an actual purpose (hint it means level)
  • Added password resetting(can't believe it took this long)
  • Also added the famous 0 to the keyboard as it's was not there for some reason
  • Added an entirely new rendering system to create an anime style matching the mecha aesthetic
  • Added 3v3 mode
  • Added Point Control Mode
  • Fixed the unlock progression to be more comprehensive and sensible
  • Unreasonable amounts of optimization for parts, including
    • total part pooling
    • dynamic mesh management for batching part meshes to reduce draw calls
    • switched to atlas texturing and single material
    • optimized parts poly counts
    • so much more i can't remember everything
  • Total top to bottom overhaul of the multiplayer menu's to be more reliable
  • Added Barracks for mech selection
  • Added MVP and best players showcase in Barracks on match completion
  • Changed the way respawning works to prevent mechs from ending up in walls
  • Changed entire Networking systems to operate on a no gc generation method
  • Changed the net calls for all the basic loadout spawning
  • Added combo system to boost player in match income
  • Fixed translations
  • Added button sound effects
  • Changed the button models
  • Optimized button scripts
  • Optimized vertical list displays to be more useful
  • Forced everything to be pooling focused instead of instantiation focused
  • Move player login systems to be persistent in match to prevent constantly having to log back in on main menu
  • Added terms and service as well as privacy policy into the game to become compliment with legal regulations 
  • Rebalanced all weapons to be more...well...balanced
  • Fixed bug where mech guns didn't match guns that were set
  • Fixed bug where network based loading was causing weird loading error's for remote client mechs

I can't entirely remember everything that has changed. But i can assure this is only a 25% of what has been fixed, changed or optimized.
